Gareth woke up the very next day.... thinking about a very special young lady.....
Hey, wait!!! I wanna tell this part of the story... after all... it IS a major scene that played out, ya know!
*sigh*
O-kay, you tell it then, but make sure you get all the details straight. You do tend to ramble a bit.
Heh, not as much as you 'Miss Smartie!!!'
Um, that's 'MRS' Smartie to you.
Okay, well, on with the story then.
As you know, I've fallen head over heels with my co-worker (and fellow conspirator), Rhonda Bagley. Who would have known huh?
I had to act fast, as that slimeball.... Don Lothario (great name huh? Fits perfectly LOL), was sniffing around my gal, so I declared my true feelings for her.
And she reciprocated!!!
HAH! In yer face Don boy!!!!
Well, I didn't want to overstay my welcome there, and I WAS feeling a bit hungry and tired, so I decided to make my way home. And lo!!!! My 'maker (and Sim Goddess) had parked a barbecue and picnic table in the back yard.
HOT DOGS HERE WE COME!!!!
So, without any hesitation, I raided the fridge and got out the ingredients for my favourite food!!! No brainer really, jar of sausages, onions, buns and relish (mainly mustard .... yum!)
Um, Gareth?
Yeah?
I've already told everybody about that....
Oh.
And the exercise regime too.
Ah.... well.... um.... well thank you very much. I was getting into the 'flow' and you just HAD to spoil it for me.
Sorry.
Thanks a lot. Um, where was I???
Thinking of Rhonda.
Oh yeah, here I was, exhausted from exercising, when .... my thoughts drifted back to Rhonda. And her family.
Yeah, she might be rich, but she wasn't happy. Not with that evil witch/thing/um whatever, and her cowardly brother.... money certainly didn't buy her happiness at all. Just a few trinkets here and there.
Gah, who am I kidding? I'm living a humble life compared to her. But I'm fine. At least I've got my oven and sink to fret about. And other stuff to fuss over!!!
However, something told me to get my butt over there ASAP. And man, was I glad I did.
No sooner had I arrived, when I spotted Rhonda and her Ma (or whatever that woman/person is) having a HUGE blazing row!!!!
Then her Ma stormed off, probably back into the house... I dunno, I was too worried about Rhonda. She looked upset.
Hi teddy bear.
Oh, hi there.
Aww what's wrong?
*sigh* Sherman...
Sherman's her brother... the wuss.
Wanna talk about it?
Not really. Just hate this hellhole that's all.
Lemme make it all better for you then.
That's when we started kissing.
Ya know, I really haven't a clue what happened after that, but I was so swept up in the moment and determined to make things better for Rhonda that I did the most improbable and impossible thing ....
.... ever.
Wanna go steady with me?
Um, sure honey.... sure.
I swear, if I'd asked her to jump off a cliff, I'm fairly sure she would have..... not that I'd ever dare do that, she's too precious.
But, even though I was still exhausted from that workout yesterday...... I had to lean in and whisper something really naughty in her ear.
Wanna do a WooHoo with me? When we're alone?
She giggled and blushed. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I sank to one knee and gazed lovingly at her. She was the only one I could see, there and then.
Gareth?
Yeah?
What..... what. are. you. doing?
Um, wait a sec.
Dammit, where's that ring????
I swear, those pockets are waaay too small. After a few seconds of tugging and pulling (keep it clean folks, that's NOT what I was doing ... o-kay?) it came free. Creaking the little velvet box open, I offered it to a very surprised Rhonda.
Will..... *clears throat*
Will you marry me?
First of all she was shell-shocked, but she didn't have time to pause and think about it.
OMG!!! OMG!!! IS THIS FOR REAL?????
Yup.
Well, hell ... yeah!!!
Soooooooooo.... whaddayasay huh?
OMG! YEAH definitely YEAH!!!!!
Even the sudden appearance of her brother Sherman, didn't spoil that precious moment. Although he did appear to have a rod up his butt about something. Maybe his Ma was waiting for him indoors to give him a good telling off???
I didn't care, for now, both Rhonda and I were caught up in 'the moment'.
She was so excited that she flung herself into my arms and squeezed and hugged me so tightly that I was almost choking. But at least I made her very happy indeed.

Gareth, the 'Knight in Shining Armour' - Part One
After he finished work... and had a nice long sleep....
... Rhonda was all he could think about.
Luckily for him, he had a couple of days off, so without further ado, he hopped onto his scooter and made his way across town to where Rhonda lived with her family.
At the same time.....
.... a lonely figure stood at the front door of Rhonda's place, waiting to be invited in.
None other than notorious playboy, mooch and playboy..... (did I say playboy... twice?)
Yep definite playboy!
Don Lothario!!!
Hurry Gareth, get your skates on before it's too late. We don't want this guy to get his claws into your girlfriend now, do we?
That wasn't the only surprise Rhonda had in store for Gareth.
Firstly, her family home was HUGE.
She was filthy rich.
And she had a VERY dysfunctional family indeed.
The first person to greet Gareth, as he approached, was Ma Bagley....
... and.... well...
... let's just say, Gareth had to do a double take, the minute he clapped eyes on her.
She scowled at him and stalked off.
Say... is that a man... or a woman?
Not sure myself really.
Cos if it's a woman.... geez, she's butt-uglee!!
I know. But Gareth?
Yeah?
Better be on your best behaviour... right?
What's that supposed to mean?
Um, well.... she's ... er.... got 'company'.... MALE... company
Instantly, Gareth stormed in, in search of Rhonda, and found her.... in the sitting room ... with Don.
Well, needless to say.... Gareth stalked up to Rhonda and hugged her tightly. She looked so happy to see him.
By now, Don had vanished from sight, making a hasty retreat. Seeking refuge in the adjoining annexe. Maybe to sneak a 'quickie' with Rhonda perhaps? Who knows. All we know is that he ran for cover as soon as he heard Gareth outside.
After a few hugs and kisses and a cheeky comment from Rhonda about Gareth being quite a nice bit of 'Eye Candy', you could tell this was no infatuation at all. They really did revolve around each other.
However, a pang of guilt ripped through Rhonda as she felt she was being a very rude hostess, and decided to seek out Don to apologise. Gareth duly followed.... just in case.
He needn't have worried though, Don was only sharing a few jokes and stuff.
But still, Gareth had to take action. And once again.... staked his claim on Rhonda. Giving her - and him - their 'First Kiss'.
From the expression on Don's face however, it appears he was completely gutted at losing out in love.
You gotta feel sorry for the guy..... NOT.
Then Ma came marching in, interrupting everything. Muttering something only Don heard, and he looked mighty uncomfortable indeed.
Rhonda threw her a dirty look before glancing at Gareth, and seeing those 'puppy-dog' eyes he was making.... that truly melted her. (who wouldn't.... just look at him!!!!)
Apparently her kid brother had arrived home....
... and had a full blown panic attack.
Considering that he's in the Military, this doesn't bode well for this cowardly character.......
Rhonda apologised before leaving Gareth alone with Don, to deal with her brother and try to calm him down.
Don nervously introduced himself to Gareth, and they both discovered that they shared a common trait.... Commitment Issues.
Niiiiice.
What happened next.... was a complete and utter surprise.
Even for me....
... stay tuned for the concluding part of
Gareth - the 'Knight in Shining Armour'

Gareth's 'Mystery Sim'
Gareth has been holding out on us.
For the past couple of weeks, he's been getting phone calls, daily, just when he's running a bath, getting into the bath, halfway through a bath, or just getting out. Even when he's been trying to get a few lie-ins, thanks to long hours he puts in at work.
And does he complain?
Nope.
I wonder why that is????
It's no good asking him either. The days when you want him to talk.... he clams up tighter than ... well ... a clam.
But then, one day.. all was revealed, as he picked up the phone and dialled a number. A FEMALE voice answered, soft and gentle. And he invited her around to his house for pizza.
Yep, he's getting to a point now, that he's too lazy to cook. But never mind, at least he's getting some company anyway.
And the identity of this 'mystery Sim'?
None other than his work colleague... Rhonda Bagley!!!!!
They've been best buddies for AGES... apparently. And up until now, their relationship has been 'platonic' (or so Gareth says).
But something has changed.
After driving me insane from his constant singing in the bath.... Gareth decided to sing to Rhonda. At least he can drive someone else batty with his crooning!!!
He chose a song about 'going steady' - no less!!!
And she was completely enthralled.
She'd never had this kind of attention before and sucked it up... a LOT.
So much so that there was a glassy look in her eyes as she gazed longingly at Gareth as he crooned and warbled.
Oh. My.
Who would have thunk huh? A romance that begins in the workplace????
Well, one thing led to another, and he started flirting with her... gently to begin with, just to test the waters. After all, he'd been down this road before and had the rejection slips to prove it.
But Rhonda proved VERY receptive. It appears, she'd been holding a candle for him for a while now, and didn't want to make the first move, just in case he rejected her..
... aww, how sweet...
But then.... out came the 'cheesy' one-liners...
I hope he's improved somewhat from the last attempt.
You are like a delicate flower... a beautiful red rose.
Awww. At least it's an improvement from the past few attempts.
Sadly, this romance had to be aborted very quickly, as Gareth needed to get to work. Spinning into his clothes, you couldn't help but notice the look of infatuation in Rhonda's eyes as he hurriedly said goodbye.
They held hands briefly, making promises to call each other.
The look on their faces said enough. They were loathe to part from one another, bitter regret in their eyes.
As he bounded into the car, a sappy grin on his face (no pics, sorry), Rhonda made herself at home, sitting on the well worn settee, playing video games.
In fact, she looked right at home, sitting there, as if she truly belonged.
Is this going to be a one-off, or will this develop into something more permanent?
We can only hope.
