The World Welcomes .......

We left you with Rhonda in labour, screaming the place down and causing Nanny Katie to practically have a coronary. This is an elderly lady for goodness' sake, you can't just stand there and yell your head off. Plus, think of little Peter, sitting there waiting for his porridge. The poor kid's going to be seriously traumatized by all this.

Sims huh? Love em or hate em, they're certainly entertaining.

Anyways, Gareth's timing couldn't have been more apt here. He'd just literally finished work (and managed to throw off the cops at the same time), when he arrived home to find Rhonda already making her way out to the car.

"Water broke?"

"Yep."

"Suitcase packed?"

"Yep."

"Kids okay?"

"Yep."

As you can see, Rhonda's not very talkative today. More on that later.

"Anything else I need to know?"

"Scared Katie."

"Um, okay, well ... you make your way to the hospital whilst I go check on everyone."

"......"

Several hours later, both Gareth and Rhonda arrived home with their newest arrival....
Timothy.

Sorry for lack of pics, there are only so many times you can take hospital shots before the novelty wears off. Besides, I was busy back home with Nanny Katie fussing over Peter etc.
Joshua and Alice were safely tucked up in bed, sound asleep and none the wiser for the antics downstairs.

Gareth charged in, all a-glow, a beautiful smile cracking his face wide open.

"Ahhh.... it's great to be back home .. isn't it?"

Followed reluctantly by a rather grouchy Rhonda.

"You need talk, you don't have to go through this time and time again. It's not doing my figure any favours, nor is it helping me with my job promotions. Thank goodness I've only got a few days left before I turn elder. So you can wipe that stupid ass grin off your face once and for all."

Way to go Rhonda, let it all out, don't hold back will ya?????

Gareth in the meantime ignored her as he wandered further into the house. Yep, he's on a high, but that'll soon dissipate when reality hits him.... HARD.

More details on Timothy in the next update.

Gareth Takes Matters Into his own Hands

Well, as pregnancies go..... this one for Rhonda, happens to be the most complicated.
Her hormones went haywire and she picked on anybody outside the family. Her back constantly ached and she started demanding VERY expensive spa treatments, although Gareth definitely put his foot down with THAT request (or should I say..... I did)

Gareth, however, was pretty much used to this behaviour. After all, he's been a dad twice already and was half expecting Rhonda to 'lose it' at some point.

His method for calming her down (and it works every single time), was to talk to her belly, sing to it and listen to the baby.

Sooo cuuuuuuuuuuute.

Unfortunately, this meant more pressure on Katie, and time and again, she'd start thinking that this wonderful family home.... was beginning to be a prison for her!!!!

It had been a long day for all. Alice and Joshua had been to the stadium to tackle the Amateur Olympic try-outs, and failed miserably.

The house was quiet. The kids were in bed, Rhonda was right in the middle of a nice bath, when two things happened.

Gareth had just literally finished work and walked through the door.
And her contractions started.

Perfect timing!!!

Instead of panicking though, Gareth hastily ushered her out of the front door and into the waiting taxi, heading straight for the hospital.

'Come on hun,' he said quietly, taking charge, 'time to get you to the hospital.'

'But the kids....'

'All tucked up in bed, I'm pretty sure Katie can manage that one.'

'My overnight bag?'

'Already organised.'

'You sure?'

'Yep, checked it all myself.... everything's there. Now come on hun, we have plenty of time to get there and get you settled in... o-kay?'

'O-kay.'

A couple of hours later.... they reappeared.

Rhonda was immediately confronted by a guy who complained about feeling really tired and exhausted...

'Tired?' she scoffed, 'try several hours of labour, with NO rest..... THEN talk to me about 'feeling tired'!!!!'

Um..... o-kay.

Guess she's back.

Anyways.....

.... as you can see..... the bundle of blankets is blue.
So that denotes a boy!!!

His name is.....

Peter!!!!

And judging by Gareth's face, he looks mightily please with himself too, albeit a bit tired out himself.

Another one huh?
Yep. *yawns*

Is that the last one - you hope?

*shrugs* guess so.... unless Rhonda wants another one...... man... she's insatiable.
Um TMI there buddy!!!

Yeah well, I think I'd better hit the sack.... I'm bushed too! Night!

Night Gareth, sleep well.
Hah!!! As if!!! Glad we've got Katie.

With that, we leave you with a few pictures of Gareth and Rhonda bringing baby Peter home.

Whoops!!!! Better make sure there aren't any low hanging light fittings nearby Gareth. Remember what happened to Alice?

Meh, he'll be fine.....

And the Sim World Welcomes......

After the fiasco of the dishwasher, Rhonda decided to avoid tinkering with it for the rest of her pregnancy..... much to Gareth's relief. Things were running along smoothly.... or as smoothly as possible when you've got a toddler running loose in the house.

And it happened.

Just as Gareth came home from work, and yes, oddly enough.... still wearing his works uniform.
Rhonda had had a decent night's sleep, managing to catch a few hours whilst Alice played with her toys, when she suddenly got up and felt the cramps.

They couldn't leave Alice alone, and having a home birth wasn't an option. Gareth, being the fusspot that he is.... insisted that they went to the hospital.

So Gareth, with trembling hands, called for the babysitter, who came by promptly whilst Gareth and Rhonda rushed off in the taxi.

Or so I thought.

When I looked, the taxi had already gone, and Gareth was speeding along on his scooter!!!!

At least the babysitter was on time anyway.

The poor babysitter didn't know what hit her, as she reached down to empty Alice's potty....
and got a nasty... smelly... surprise!!!!

At least she was doing her job anyway.

Several hours later as the sun was rising over the horizon.....

Rhonda emerged holding in her arms a beautiful baby....

BOY!!!!!

Whose name is..... Joshua.

Closely followed by a rather proud looking Gareth. Finally getting the son he wanted. Although Alice is definitely the 'apple' of his eye.

Welcome to the wacky world that your parents are living in my dear.... you're going to love it!!!!
Unlike Alice, where I could choose both traits.... Joshua had one already designated to him....

... that of Brave.

So I chose Athletic for the second one.

Isn't he a cutie?

But sadly, not for long.

Rhonda was totally tired out after being up all night, and left it up to Gareth to look after Joshua, despite his own fatigue.

Unfortunately, because of lack of space, Joshua's crib had to be moved into their bedroom.

After feeding, fussing and generally settling Joshua in, Gareth crashed out too.....

And right on cue..... Joshua pooped in his diaper and made a hell of a racket, waking Gareth up.

WILL YOU SHUT THAT KID UP AND SORT HIM OUT? I'M TRYING TO SLEEP HERE DAMMIT!!!!

With that, he got back into bed, in a REALLY foul mood.

So much for the 'loving daddy' scenario LOL

Baby Is Coming!!!!!

Last update, we left off with Rhonda going into labour.

NOBODY TOLD ME IT WOULD HURT THIS BADLY!!!!!

O-kay.

DRUGS!!!! I WANT DRUGS!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!

In all this huge panic and uproar, Constance simply sat down to watch TV.

They're just 'practice pains' my dear..... was her reply.
THEY DON'T BLOODY WELL FEEL LIKE IT TO ME!!!
Just breathe deeply.
I AM BREATHING!!!!! LOOK.... I'M PANTING MY BLOODY LUNGS OUT HERE!!!!
Um, perhaps I should go?
AND LEAVE ME ALONE???
Well, you could go to hospital you know.
Um, I think it's too late for that.... my water just broke. And I'm not getting the seats of my car all dirty!
You're going... and that's final!
I'll walk it then.... just try and stop me!!

Look, be reasonable, you can hardly waddle, let alone walk. You don't want to give birth in the middle of the road now, do you?
Fine! Just don't blame me if I can't get the stains and stink out of the upholstery.... *sob* my poor baby's gonna be ruined!!!

And so, with great reluctance, Rhonda got into her roadster and high tailed it to the hospital.

Now then, right across town, at approximately 12:45am, Gareth got a frantic call from Constance, telling him that the baby was on it's way. His boss gave him leave to attend the birth, so he charged out of the warehouse, where he suddenly stopped dead.

Gareth?

*silence*

Um, Gareth?

*more silence*

Anything wrong?

Baby's coming!

The words were barely whispered as he slowly broke out of his numbness.

Yeah, and if you're not quick enough.... you're gonna miss the birth.

Um ..... yeah.... I .... er... guess so.

I haven't a clue how he did it, but he managed to dash across town towards the hospital, still slightly numbed out at the fact that the baby was on it's way.

He arrived at the hospital and paused, looking up at this imposing building.

Nervous?
Um, yeah.
I think you'll be fine. They're in good hands.
You sure?
Yeah, I've seen this all before.... it's going to be alright.

Just then, he bumped into Roxie Lin.

Hey Gareth, I heard Rhonda's having her baby!!
Yeah! 'scuse me, gotta get inside and see her.
Did you know, she wanted to stay at home to have it?
Huh? WHAT!?!?!
Yeah.

Thanks Roxie, as if he's not stressed enough as it is!!!

With that, he dashed inside and vanished from view.

Many hours pass until finally the birth of their baby is announced.

Welcome to the world...................

Alice!!!!

Yep, sadly, not the son that Gareth longed for, but a daughter, a little bundle of joy to nurture and love.

As Rhonda left the hospital, and got into the taxi with Alice bundled up in her arms, Gareth followed shortly afterwards. Completely and utterly shell-shocked!

You okay there?

Gareth?

Then suddenly a smile crept over his face.

I'm a dad!! he said proudly..... I'm. A. Dad!

Stay tuned for the next update....

Daddy's Little Girl!!!!
