Joshua's Birthday Party .... For Real This Time!!!!

After my little - um- 'oversight', concerning little Joshua, I decided that the very next day, he should have his birthday party for real!!!So, without further ado, Rhonda decided to invite a few guests - including her kid brother Sherman too (can't have a party without SOME family being involved).

Katie was so totally exhausted from her duties that she ended up sleeping all day, and didn't get the chance to organise the buffet (not that Joshua minded, he was happy because this was HIS day).
It appears that Sherman and Rhonda still have a fairly strong brother/sister relationship, as Rhonda couldn't resist breaking the news about her pregnancy (as if he couldn't tell by the expanding belly!!!! LOL).

And Sherman just couldn't resist talking to the little nipper too.

So all's good with those two.

Rhonda's relationship with her mother Ma, was still in the deep red. Neither one has forgiven each other for whatever it was they'd argued about in the first place.
I'm guessing it's got something to do with Don Lothario......... but I could be wrong there.

Anyway, the sky darkened towards dusk as the guests arrived. Rhonda scooped little Joshua in her arms and leaned him towards the cake (making sure he didn't touch those flames), and helped him to blow them out.

Everybody gathered as the sparklies surrounded Joshua.

Wave bye bye to those stinky diapers and that ooh so cuuute ladybug tee shirt (although he DID look simply adorable in it!!!) kiddo, you're about to transition and gain more independence.

Then, without warning.... he leaped up into the air!!!!!

Before transitioning into the cutest, most solemn faced little boy I'd ever seen.

As he'd grown up so well (according to my game), I had the chance to pick his next trait.

I thought long and hard about it.
What would be fitting for this adorable little boy?

And then it struck me....

MEAN SPIRITED!!!

And that trait comes into play a lot sooner than I expected.

And you'll all find out in the next update............

Happy Birthday Alice!!!!

It's that time again, where the cake comes out, the candles are lit, guests are invited.....
... and the birthday girl grows up.

Gareth and Rhonda both agreed that as it's a very special event in Alice's life..... a party was to be organised. Nothing special, just a get together with a few friends/work colleagues etc.

If anybody just happened to be passing.... well, the more the merrier.

Because of the meagre savings, they couldn't really have a HUGE bash, but they extended the back yard a little.... 'hired' a buffet table and brought the stereo outside, whilst they waited for the birthday girl to wake from her nap.

Gareth left it up to Rhonda to organise the guests, one of them being her kid brother Sherman, (although he DID look a little lonely there, and perhaps more than a little uncomfortable) just to let him know that she still thought of him now and then.

Then there was Constance,

and a work colleague of Gareth's.... a guy called Norman who was a technophobe until Gareth convinced him that all these gadgets were perfectly safe!!!!

The party started at noon. Just in time for the maid to join in and the paperboy too!!!

Alice was brought out, still half asleep bless her.

Gareth had been cleaning up the garden and was stinky, but that didn't ruin the occasion.
Rhonda in the meantime, was totally exhausted.

She'd been around the town looking for bookshelves to house the collection of Skill books/tutorials/kiddie books she was busy putting together.

Not only that, she'd been feeling a bit queasy all day and wondered if she was coming down with the flu or something. It was the last thing she wanted, especially now that Alice was growing up fast and demanded MORE attention.

Well, everybody gathered around as Rhonda cradled Alice in her arms and blew out the candles.

Gareth was totally excited at the prospects of being able to teach his daughter a few little things to help her on her way.

Now THERE'S a proud dad indeed!!!

After the candles were blown out, Rhonda put Alice on the floor.....

.... and dashed to the bathroom to throw up

Uh oh.

But she came back, just in time to see the sparkles that heralded the standard Sims version of 'growing up'.

ZOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

And in no time, in place of a bundle of joy.....
.... was an even BIGGER bundle of joy...

.... and a really cute one to boot!!!

Gareth just couldn't resist being the first one to pick her up and make a fuss over her....

... really...

Pose for the family photo!!!!

Whilst an completely exhausted Rhonda retired to bed, feeling very unwell indeed.

Happy Birthday Alice, may your toddler days be happy ones.

**SIDE NOTE**

Rhonda had Alice in her arms, ready to blow the candles out, when all of a sudden, she took her daughter BACK INSIDE the house, lurked over the crib, before turning around and going back outside.

Whilst she was standing there, I managed to take this pic of her....
... with her eyes CROSSED!!!!

What a VERY weird woman.... I can tell you.

Oh on another note.
The party was a great success, with the last guest... the paperboy..... staying until about 6:30pm. The buffet was a failure, as there was a lot of good food wasted there. Hardly anybody ate the food, choosing the cake instead.

But they managed to 'network' and dance together instead.

Gareth, the 'Knight in Shining Armour' - Part Two

Gareth woke up the very next day.... thinking about a very special young lady.....

Hey, wait!!! I wanna tell this part of the story... after all... it IS a major scene that played out, ya know!

*sigh*

O-kay, you tell it then, but make sure you get all the details straight. You do tend to ramble a bit.

Heh, not as much as you 'Miss Smartie!!!'

Um, that's 'MRS' Smartie to you.

Okay, well, on with the story then.

As you know, I've fallen head over heels with my co-worker (and fellow conspirator), Rhonda Bagley. Who would have known huh?

I had to act fast, as that slimeball.... Don Lothario (great name huh? Fits perfectly LOL), was sniffing around my gal, so I declared my true feelings for her.

And she reciprocated!!!

HAH! In yer face Don boy!!!!

Well, I didn't want to overstay my welcome there, and I WAS feeling a bit hungry and tired, so I decided to make my way home.
And lo!!!! My 'maker (and Sim Goddess) had parked a barbecue and picnic table in the back yard.

HOT DOGS HERE WE COME!!!!

So, without any hesitation, I raided the fridge and got out the ingredients for my favourite food!!! No brainer really, jar of sausages, onions, buns and relish (mainly mustard .... yum!)

Um, Gareth?

Yeah?

I've already told everybody about that....

Oh.

And the exercise regime too.

Ah.... well.... um.... well thank you very much. I was getting into the 'flow' and you just HAD to spoil it for me.

Sorry.

Thanks a lot. Um, where was I???

Thinking of Rhonda.

Oh yeah, here I was, exhausted from exercising, when .... my thoughts drifted back to Rhonda. And her family.

Yeah, she might be rich, but she wasn't happy. Not with that evil witch/thing/um whatever, and her cowardly brother.... money certainly didn't buy her happiness at all. Just a few trinkets here and there.

Gah, who am I kidding? I'm living a humble life compared to her. But I'm fine. At least I've got my oven and sink to fret about. And other stuff to fuss over!!!

However, something told me to get my butt over there ASAP. And man, was I glad I did.

No sooner had I arrived, when I spotted Rhonda and her Ma (or whatever that woman/person is) having a HUGE blazing row!!!!

Then her Ma stormed off, probably back into the house... I dunno, I was too worried about Rhonda. She looked upset.

Hi teddy bear.

Oh, hi there.

Aww what's wrong?

*sigh* Sherman...

Sherman's her brother... the wuss.

Wanna talk about it?

Not really. Just hate this hellhole that's all.

Lemme make it all better for you then.

That's when we started kissing.

Ya know, I really haven't a clue what happened after that, but I was so swept up in the moment and determined to make things better for Rhonda that I did the most improbable and impossible thing ....
.... ever.

Wanna go steady with me?

Um, sure honey.... sure.

I swear, if I'd asked her to jump off a cliff, I'm fairly sure she would have..... not that I'd ever dare do that, she's too precious.

But, even though I was still exhausted from that workout yesterday...... I had to lean in and whisper something really naughty in her ear.

Wanna do a WooHoo with me? When we're alone?

She giggled and blushed. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I sank to one knee and gazed lovingly at her. She was the only one I could see, there and then.

Gareth?

Yeah?

What..... what. are. you. doing?

Um, wait a sec.

Dammit, where's that ring????

I swear, those pockets are waaay too small.
After a few seconds of tugging and pulling (keep it clean folks, that's NOT what I was doing ... o-kay?) it came free. Creaking the little velvet box open, I offered it to a very surprised Rhonda.

Will..... *clears throat*

Will you marry me?

First of all she was shell-shocked, but she didn't have time to pause and think about it.

OMG!!! OMG!!! IS THIS FOR REAL?????

Yup.

Well, hell ... yeah!!!

Soooooooooo.... whaddayasay huh?

OMG! YEAH definitely YEAH!!!!!

Even the sudden appearance of her brother Sherman, didn't spoil that precious moment. Although he did appear to have a rod up his butt about something. Maybe his Ma was waiting for him indoors to give him a good telling off???

I didn't care, for now, both Rhonda and I were caught up in 'the moment'.

She was so excited that she flung herself into my arms and squeezed and hugged me so tightly that I was almost choking. But at least I made her very happy indeed.
