... and the birthday girl grows up.
Gareth and Rhonda both agreed that as it's a very special event in Alice's life..... a party was to be organised. Nothing special, just a get together with a few friends/work colleagues etc.
If anybody just happened to be passing.... well, the more the merrier.
Because of the meagre savings, they couldn't really have a HUGE bash, but they extended the back yard a little.... 'hired' a buffet table and brought the stereo outside, whilst they waited for the birthday girl to wake from her nap.
Gareth left it up to Rhonda to organise the guests, one of them being her kid brother Sherman, (although he DID look a little lonely there, and perhaps more than a little uncomfortable) just to let him know that she still thought of him now and then.
Then there was Constance,
and a work colleague of Gareth's.... a guy called Norman who was a technophobe until Gareth convinced him that all these gadgets were perfectly safe!!!!
The party started at noon. Just in time for the maid to join in and the paperboy too!!!
Alice was brought out, still half asleep bless her.
Gareth had been cleaning up the garden and was stinky, but that didn't ruin the occasion.
Rhonda in the meantime, was totally exhausted.
She'd been around the town looking for bookshelves to house the collection of Skill books/tutorials/kiddie books she was busy putting together.
Not only that, she'd been feeling a bit queasy all day and wondered if she was coming down with the flu or something. It was the last thing she wanted, especially now that Alice was growing up fast and demanded MORE attention.
Well, everybody gathered around as Rhonda cradled Alice in her arms and blew out the candles.
Gareth was totally excited at the prospects of being able to teach his daughter a few little things to help her on her way.
Now THERE'S a proud dad indeed!!!
After the candles were blown out, Rhonda put Alice on the floor.....
.... and dashed to the bathroom to throw up
Uh oh.
But she came back, just in time to see the sparkles that heralded the standard Sims version of 'growing up'.
ZOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!
And in no time, in place of a bundle of joy.....
.... was an even BIGGER bundle of joy...
.... and a really cute one to boot!!!
Gareth just couldn't resist being the first one to pick her up and make a fuss over her....
... really...
Pose for the family photo!!!!
Whilst an completely exhausted Rhonda retired to bed, feeling very unwell indeed.
Happy Birthday Alice, may your toddler days be happy ones.
**SIDE NOTE**
Rhonda had Alice in her arms, ready to blow the candles out, when all of a sudden, she took her daughter BACK INSIDE the house, lurked over the crib, before turning around and going back outside.
Whilst she was standing there, I managed to take this pic of her....
... with her eyes CROSSED!!!!
What a VERY weird woman.... I can tell you.
Oh on another note.
The party was a great success, with the last guest... the paperboy..... staying until about 6:30pm. The buffet was a failure, as there was a lot of good food wasted there. Hardly anybody ate the food, choosing the cake instead.
But they managed to 'network' and dance together instead.
