It was with utter dismay, that I discovered, whilst hovering over Alice's bio (that's a great little addition EA thanks, and helpful too), that I discovered one reason why Alice was always so miserable when she was in her crib.
Yep, it was the social aspect. She DID feel lonely at times.
But, that's not the only reason.
She HATED yellow..... much preferring pink as her favourite colour.
So, Gareth happily pulled out all stops and redecorated her bedroom in pink. And now, our little gal is a wee bit more happier.
Naturally, it STILL didn't stop Alice from flexing her wee little lungs at every given opportunity.
Oh, and she's definitely got daddy wrapped around her little finger too.
With precision timing.
No sooner he'd feed her, fuss her, change her diaper....
... she'd poop in the clean one, much to Gareth's disgust.
And as mommy was still on maternity leave and unable to go back to work, it was daddy who had to go instead. And that caused no end of problems as Alice's plumbob plummeted into cherry red.
It was as if she knew when daddy was out of the building.
I swear, this little kid just lays there, plotting many different ways to push her mommy to her absolute limits.
Poor Rhonda. Alice had her running ragged, fussing, feeding etc. Often going without food, just to make sure Alice was well catered for.
Thank goodness for the batch of cookies Gareth had made for Rhonda whilst she was pregnant. Otherwise she'd never have survived cooking anything.... too busy running after a VERY demanding Alice.
Some days, she had to make do with juice, just to get her through the day.
Well, time ticked onwards, and Rhonda felt that she and Gareth were being pulled apart because of work issues and looking after Alice.
There'd be the occasional hug as he set off to work. But that 'spark' seemed to be fizzling out somewhat.
So, after settling Alice in for the night, Rhonda suggested that she and Gareth spend some 'quality' time together.
At least Alice, for the first time in what seemed like ages..... slept peacefully through the night. Leaving Gareth and Rhonda to *ahem* 'bond'

Yeah, I know what they are through. Babies sometimes demands so much attention that the couple most of time forgets one about the other...
