No wonder the poor woman was tired all the time. But that meant that any prospects of her going up the corporate ladder.... were squashed, as she couldn't go back to work and outrun the opposition (namely the police LOL).
So, she spent most of the time, tinkering with the dishwasher, trying unsuccessfully to stop it from making that darned racket that maintenance had failed (hadn't bothered) to fix.
When suddenly...
THIS
happened!!!!!!
Rhonda was zapped, scorched to within a whisker of being burned to a crisp.
But that's not all....
.. the dishwasher decided to burst into flames too!!!
Not again!!!
And yes....
As the smoke alarm went doolally, she stood there, nonplussed, watching the whole thing burn, ruining the age old wine that Gareth had discovered when he was in Paris.
'Ohhh..... pretty..... love fire!!!'
Great. That's all we need.
*sigh*
Grabbing the fire extinguisher, she tried to put out the flames.
Gareth bolted out of the bedroom, after smelling smoke and scorched metal. To see his wife in her burned underwear, trying to tackle the flames.
'WHAT THE HELL...... NOW WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?????'
'I'm sorry, I'm.... I was just trying to stop the darned thing from being so noisy, that's all!!'
'WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? DON'T YOU REALISE WE'VE GOT A KID IN THE NEXT ROOM???? HAVE YOU NO CONSIDERATION FOR HER WELFARE????'
'I'm...... sorry....'
'Sorry doesn't cut it Rhonda.... you don't think... you just go right ahead and do things without realising the consequences. Look, I know you're brave and a daredevil..... but please.... for Alice's sake.... rein in your impulses a little more... can you?'
Right on cue, Alice woke up feeling lonely and afraid, and started screaming at the top of her voice, wanting her daddy.... mommy... anybody...
Gareth, after his panic attack (and subsequent lecture to his wife), shot into the nursery and took Alice from the crib, cuddling her close.
'It's okay', he whispered, rocking her back and forth, 'Daddy's here.... he'll save you, he'll keep the monsters at bay.'
Alice sobbed quietly into his shoulder and snuggled in deeper.
'Damned woman..... she'll be the death of me.....'
Yep, pretty sure that's what Gareth muttered under his breath.... but as I am NOT fluent in Simlish, I couldn't quite be sure about that.
He assumed Alice was hungry too, and put her in the high chair, where she happily tucked into a bowl full of porridge, whilst he took stock of what had happened.
And for the first time.... in his thoughts.... he had serious misgivings about their marriage.
In fact..... he wasn't sure if he had the strength to keep up with Rhonda and her reckless ways at all.
It was then, in the aftermath.. and the peace and quiet.... that Rhonda finally realised she was pregnant, and stood there, still filthy from the electrocution and fire..... patting her stomach gently.
'You're gonna be a brave... brave boy.... aren't you?'
Um. O-kay.
Then she decided NOT to take a bath, and flopped onto the bed to read a pregnancy book!!!
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**SIDE NOTE**
For some odd reason, even though I sent Rhonda for a bath ... she still looked the same, burned underwear and sooty black marks all over. So I had to go along with her character being a little... um.... unhinged!!!!!!
Awwww... they'll break up?
ReplyDeleteNo, for the sake of Alice and the one who will come... :(
